What We Left Behind

Before you get the low down on the road trip, here's a reminder of a glorious autumn in western New York.

Flashes of red around our neighbour's pond.

And flashes of gold in the forest

The distant views of the hills

..we'd soon be driving over.  And the lane bathed in sunshine

And the garden getting ready for winter

 The hydrangeas mellowed and rusted

 The oak tree still resplendent.

Storms, rain and snow seemed a world away. It felt a bit like cheating - heading south in such beautiful weather. You need a bit of cold and wet to appreciate the charms of Florida.
